When he ended up falling off a small cliffside during the school trip to stop a little girl from falling herself. He lived, but he had several broken bones and needed to have surgery on one of his legs (with metal put in) for the trouble.
Worth it, though. He also did all of his work in the hospital and took his tests in the hospital room, so he became right as rain by the time...that happened. Honestly, it was kind of weird how quickly he recovered, too.
