Kaiba's hands push against Yuugi's shoulders, but...it's not strong enough. Somehow he can't manage to push him off, even though he wants to. Even though Yuugi's holding him, and can feel how weak he is, how thin and pathetic...
...and he stayed anyway. He said Kaiba's name, over and over. His breath is like a warm gentle breeze ruffling Kaiba's hair, making his scalp tingle.
"Get off of me."
His heart's still hammering in his chest, but he's not shoving Yuugi away. And when Mokuba takes hold of his hand, lacing their fingers and burying his face against Seto's forearm.
"Seto..."
Kaiba doesn't want them here...he doesn't want to feel Yuugi's body press against the sharp angles of his frail body. He doesn't want to bleed on his brother.
"Please..." he says quietly, before bowing his head and relenting to the reality that they wouldn't leave. Not even if he wanted them to, not even if he wanted to throw himself from the bed and force himself to walk.
The cadence of the medical machinery starts to slow, the beeping sounding less dire as he's forced to calm down. His eyes seem to haze over as he stares at nothing at all. He can't even make out what's in his line of sight anymore, and he doesn't want to.
